Lew sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Don't check this page as often as I should.

What your proposing sounds great. I say count us in.

I should also take a moment to say thank you. Lurking on the threads you guys had regarding get togethers was the inspriation to get something going here. In other words, looked like you guys were having fun. Wink

So far we have about 16 people that asked to be put on an email list and be notified of get togethers. As far as gatherings go we're off to a slow start with attendance not as good as I expected, hopefully that will change in the near future. I've often thought our own web site would be very benifical to reaching flat fender owners in MI and organizing events but it's like you said, would like to keep this a no cost deal.

If you need any more info or you wish to discuss this further I can send you a PM with my email address.

Scott

Scott, don't be discouraged by a seemingly small turnout. There are always more that "want to" than there are that actually show, for one reason or another. Take you small group & go!  These outings can be a lot of fun!   BW
It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

same thing I'm working on! My family has a cabin just south of TC so I will have to let you know when I'm up there buzzing around, when ever I get this thing on the road!

I check in from time to time, but my Willy's isn't anywhere close to stock.  It looks close from 50' though.

I should update it's build thread...

Hey guys,

I just moved to Pontiac, MI from Virginia.  Are any other flat fender owners in SE Michigan interested in doing a driving tour some weekend this summer in the countryside? I'm not too familiar with the area so I can't offer any routes or destinations.  If anyone has any suggestions, please post them! I look forward to meeting some of you!

Brandon

That would be a great first ride!  I put my CJ on the back burner while I rebuild this 50 pickup.  I hope to have that on the road in the summer...

I'm about 10 minutes from the Michigan border and would attend some of the club events. There's a Hoosierwillys club as well. Bundy Hill would be a great place to do some light offroad (pretty open area, it's used as a gravel pit).

Maybe in the spring or summer of  2018 we can plan a dirt road ride out of Clarkston and run out to Fenton or Holly or Ortonville. I run the the dirt roads here on nice days in the summer quite often. Check out Rattalee Lake Rd.. That's a favorite of mine. There's some good restaurants too.

I've got a good feeling 2018's going to be a banner year for flatfenders in mi.(I've got high hopes anyhow, got some catching up to do). In the Grand Rapids area there is at least 5 flatfenders on this site all will be celebrating their jeep's 70th birthday in 2018. Clarkston just a hop, skip, and a jump from G.R. so count me in for a get together. The back roads along the Grand River to Grand Haven is one of my favorites rides, also there is little known antique car show at Millenium Park in early June that I'm sure are jeeps would be welcomed. About a 1 1/2 mi. from my house. Joe Wadoyado       drm 101 thought you where talking about Clarksville Mi. A bit farther than a hop, skip, and a jump but the rest of the post still applies. Joe
