Those running the mini-high torque gear reductions starters found on that popular auction site......

Can I get some feedback as to would you do it again or was it a mistake?

Also, am I understanding that they are compatible with the 124 tooth flywheel?

In the generic picture of them it appears they are 'snoutless' ( meaning there is not a shaft that goes into a bell housing bushing)......can someone confirm this also, please.

Thank you much!

Do you still run a solenoid/ relay with it or is that built in?

I've been running 2, one on a 49 Jeepster and the other on my 47 CJ2a.  Both work great and have no problems.  Better, easier and lighter than the original.

Is this a 6v starter? I assume it is since it replaces an MZ 4113 Autolite.

Have had mine for a few years. My original 6 volt starter was very worn so it was a huge improvement but I've never compared it to a good factory starter so...

I got one after the original 6v getting 12v ate my flywheel ring gear. Surprisingly, it engaged on my damaged gear with no problem. Eventually I replaced the ring gear.

Cranks over nicely every time. No grinding. Half the weight. Great upgrade.

I put one on my 3A (still a project) and it works well. You'll miss the ruh-ruh-ruh sound of the orig starter tho, gear reduction sounds totally different.

Thanks guys, this was very helpful....doesn't sound like much of a downside function-wise only authenticity.

I have one on my 3a.... I was using it on my L134 but now use it even after my diesel swap. Its still on the t90 bellhousing but now its cranking over an engine with 21:1 compression! It cranks like a champ. I would absolutely recommend! If you email the seller and tell him what ring gear you have and how many teeth are on your starter he will make sure you get the correct one. Very good to deal with..
