It's a start. Welcome to the Forum. the engine compartment is mostly there. If it runs, then start on the safety issues like steering and brakes. The wiring looks like it could use some work. Looks to be a 1948 production number by the serial number tag.

Are you going to keep the patina or do you plan more of a restore?

Hi, running, and operational is my first effort. I had wanted the earlier styles, but found them not affordable if running, or not available. The passenger floor is rusted through, so I think I’ll buy a panel and start to see what I can put together. I could buy a new tub, but want to make sure I am mechanically sound first!

Hi, I hope to get it running and operational first. So, engine, brakes, cooling. The passenger floor has a big rust hole, and so I believe a new panel is in order. I could buy a new tub, but want to make sure I’m mechanically sound first.
Any recommendations on where to start?

I would look at the hoses at the radiator, the oil lines. it could use a good wiring harness.

From this view, it looks complete except the fuel pump is not original and the horn is not original. The horn looks like a Sparton Hi or Lo. They were a somewhat common replacement horn when the CJ2A was converted to 12 volts.
