I have a 46 cj2a (VEC)13571
column shift. I've been restoring
since Aug of 17.I'm trying to figure
out info on the motor.Stamped on the
flat behind the water pump is F3674
the motor was not in the jeep when I loaded
the jeep up. The family did not know anything
about the jeep.

F3674 is not a typical L-134 engine serial number.  Can you post some photos of the engine?  There are some other indicators that can help determine what you have.

I seem to recall that I once worked on a portable welder that had a Willys engine in it. IIRC, the engine serial number started with an F then had four digits. IE: F-1234.

Pictures may tell us if this engine is out of some portable equipment.

So X2 on the pictures.

I have already started on the block , so no complete motor pics. The distributor has a vacume advance on it. The intake manifold
at the carburetor is running perpendicular to the exhaust manifold. My cj3a intake is running parallel to the exhaust manifold. It also has a fiber timing gear.Oil filter is on the left front corner as my cj3a also.I installed the motor for fit up
before the teardown all seamed to fit just fine ,
transmission , motor mounts , etc. I did not have the hood on not sure of carburetor clearances.I'll a temp pics of the block.

The F3674 doesn't look factory.  Wrong size, wrong font, upside down, and was likely done by hand one character at a time.  The original number may have been lost if the block was decked during a rebuild.  A rebuilder may have stamped it to be able to identify it for inventory or warranty information...

Anything stamped on the underside, where the oil pan bolts to the block?

ETA: good info in the first post here
