OK, was going to stay out of it but that was a step to far in the wrong direction.

Joe's shared knowledge is a big asset to this forum. He is one of the biggest curators of Willys Overland factory data that we have....(if you only knew)....I know "you don't care" but it's true just the same...

The banning of content doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with 'scrolling on past' a topic. It's really not a question of that as I'm sure he won't probably read the topic again BUT the danger of someone else reading it  (and the dangers presented within) would still be there thus the ban.

The video did really make it look easy....I've seen this procedure done many times on and off the trail. Concern to me would be that although it looked really easy in Seth's garage somebody without his experience (maybe reluctantly trying it for the first time because it did look so easy) didn't have the same outcome.....so what next? Well if a little didn't do it maybe a little more will theory leading to a not so pleasant scenario.  There was no mention of that in the video.

Joe was trying to keep someone from getting hurt or unnecessary legal action.

I personally don't have the need to video parts of my life that may or may not be controversial but if I did I would consider the ramifications of doing so. If I found that what I was doing was maybe going to be misinterpreted and somebody getting hurt I think I would consider somebody saying something about it a good thing.....(or consider another topic for my video skills)

Both members are great assets to this forum.

(By the way, there is a Report Post option under the Post Options button that will allow a post to be reported to moderators for those that didn't know)

I think that’s great that Joe brings something to the forum that others can’t. This isn’t the first time he has tried to block Seth’s content before. Like I said before, from a legal stand point, Seth is covered. No one should be reporting content like that. It’s pretty insane really. If he wanted to come on and say “I feel as though this isn’t safe and people shouldn’t try this”, then fine. But trying to ban his stuff? Like I said before this isn’t the first time he has tried to ban Seth’s stuff. It’s one thing to try and help and educate a forum, it’s another to try and silence.

For the record, I have NEVER tried to block any of Seth's posts before, and the reason I posted here that I had requested it be blocked was I wanted a second opinion from the Moderators, and I didn't want anyone to think i went behind his back.

I chose to delete my posts to de-fuse the the situation, you chose to re-post them to call attention to yourself.

Confused

When I first seen this post yesterday I thought,  "man Seth you are brave",  not because you use either to get a tire bead on but because you posted it.   I have used this method quite a few times over the years.

Seth - If you do not agree with Dave's comments, I suggest you ask him to stop posting on your behalf. In my opinion, it sheds negative light on you.

There was a service station in the town I grew up in which had a chunk of the bead lock from a split rim truck wheel imbedded in the ceiling over the tire changer. The owner left it there as a warning after a man was killed by the tire exploding.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Haha.... I’ve become used to getting negative comments.. between having a YouTube channel and running ndt tires above parade speed. Haha!!!  I hope I never post off roading videos without a roll bar!!! Or flat towing.... or towing on a single axle trailer or using a open hook ratchet straps!!! Now that I think of it.. this whole forum should probably get the parlor app treatment.  😆

This reminds me of something I recently saw on tv....

“I denounce violence of any kind” “stand down, standby”

Haha!!! Is this CNN?

I totally agree. This thread is pointless at this point. Haha! But it was interesting while it lasted! 😆

Whoooeeee my cousin blew his finger near off doing this with a tractor trailer tire. My daddy taught me this trick when I was changing tractor tires at 12. Works slicker than a pig in slop. That Dave Fella must gotten the boot for disagreeing with y’all. My daddy woulda smacked me upside the head for that. Good movie though startwars guy.
