I used the seat pan and spring set from Walcks. I purchased the foam inserts a while ago, and was intending on using them. But Walcks came out with their seat spring set right before I started working on my seats. So I figured I go more original with the springs. The pans, springs and seat covers all came from Walcks. I'm really happy with the fit and quality; big plus is they were made in the USA; Walcks is great to work with. Only time will tell on how well they hold up.

As far as the build goes. I do a lot of research online. I stalk on here constantly to see what guys are doing. Good example, I saw Haines Garage, either on here or his youtube channel, grab some OEM light dimmer switches on ebay awhile back, so I got me one even though I have a repro in there now. I watch jpet’s youtube channel to see real working/functioning jeeps. Without this site, and its members, my build would be a tough row to hoe, as I’d never laid eyes on a real live Willys before I started this project. With work and family stuff, it’s really hard to work on it a lot. We just spent 99% of the summer renovating a house for one of my boys.  Upside is that I take my time and save up funds to buy or do the things I want for it and it doesn’t hurt. For me personally the joy is in the build not the driving. So I don’t have the pressure to put it on the road.

I also used a set of Walcks seat springs and covers. Mine are very comfortable and supported my 190 lbs nicely without bottoming out on the seat pans over rough terrain (local desert trips).  I think you will be happy with that setup.
