Finally got it home and took pix.  Believe it's a Bantam, but would appreciate confirmation.  It's a little rougher than I had thought, but what's money for anyway except to spend it on Jeeps and Bantams.Tongue

Looks like a workin trailer, which can be kinda fun when you're not afraid to put anyting in it. I have one like yours and I use it much more than the nice one. Can you post a pic of the back and the hitch?

to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife.

Everything I see is Bantam (except for the hitch, but they're almost always changed) pictures from the rear would help in nailing down the year.

My Mom thinks my Dad bought it new in 1945, but not sure.  The hitch has been changed.  Data plate is gone.  Here are more pix.

Judging by the taillight panels and the drawbar casting, I'm going to guess '47 or late '46, the gussets in the drawbars and the way the drawbars are attached to the tub are early characteristics, maybe it's a transitional model. Have you looked at the database at the Bantam page? You can look through the various characteristics and get a good idea of date. http://bantamt3c.com/index.htm

Nice score!

Quick look at the database - V notch support is up to sn: 8117

With a late hitch casting I'm placing it between sn: 4410 - 8000 making it a 1946 until I can get more picture data.

And it doesnt have any of the leftover hand brake holes, indicative of a definate 45 trait.....

Very nice trailer just the same!    Enjoy!

@48cj2a.  I have e-mailed you more pix and all of the info I currently have.  Thanks to all of you for the information you have provided.

Restoring this trailer may have to fall to someone else at a later time.  I am looking forward to retiring (again), so there won't be much money for projects after the Jeep is done.  Main thing is that it is back in the family.  Another little piece of history preserved.
