Ever heard of useing  5w 50 Diesel oil in new engine? Owner said it has zink in it to help brake in? your thoughts please.

Not sure about that particular weight of oil, but you can search “rotella”, “zddp”, and “break-in oil” and read previous posts and threads.  Yep, it’s used

Agree.
It can get kind of repetitive when folks find it easier to ask for answers to relatively simple questions rather than bothering to use the "search" feature to discover thousands of nuggets repeated and buried in posts over the years to get their answer.

Question: Is it ok to use old oil that has been setting on the shelf for 20 plus years.
Answer: No. the oil was already a million years old when sucked out of ground and now it is too old at a million twenty plus years.
