I got my new leaf springs (made by Crown) from Summit. At free shipping for over $99 it seemed like a no-brainer.

The new leaf springs came with a bronze bushing in one eye (for the greasable bolt). The other eye has a rubber bushing in it, with a metal insert.

I have the greasable U-shackles and want to keep them. It would seem that if I were to drive the rubber bushing out, the U-shackle bushing, the one with the faint thread, would fit.

Is that what I should do?

yeh they were in there real tight. I ended up pressing them out. I could see that hammering them out wasn't going to work...
