Just remember the grins. I remember my father driving the MB, ear to ear grin. Our mother was the same. I went out with one of my brothers kids, Just a grin the whole trip and the windshield was up.

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a good summer..... We just made it through a couple hot ones here in New England.. Felt like we were in Florida In the spirit of keeping the thread alive, I wanted to share just a couple small projects I have been able to sneak-in... I received some nice original hood latches from my friend and fellow CT'r Dana... Solved my hood rattling and helped to preserve my sanity Thanks Dana!! I pinstriped my wheels using the Buegler Pen.... I was happy for a first time. I striped right over rust, scratches, grooves, chips, etc so the pen was bouncing around alot. Next time will be better The kids love to play in the Jeep, we had some friends visit from CO and they were playing army... After this pic was taken, I found my choke and throttle cables pulled ALL the way out, my dash light bezel in the grass, my tool kit invaded and my levers somewhere between 4x4 Crazy!!! Yes, I was happy to find it for sure.... I was missing one for a long time, until one day I found it in the bottom of a box in my Dads shed... Like many parts (small and large) on the jeep, it has a story

Geoff, Thanks for the kind words but "what goes around, comes around". You gave me something that I value greatly.........The photo of the kids is "priceless"!! I love seeing your youngsters enjoying the CJ, they'll remember those times forever!!!!

Mostly because I thought it would look cool but for safety too, I painted the fan in old bomber style:

ha !
I like the bomber-style fan art. an interesting personal touch. The last '46 I restored in 1984 was before-kids. Now, they are all early '30's. I too liked the photo of the kids playing in the Willys. good times for them. |

Painting the fan tips yellow is actually a good idea. I'm one of those idiots who will stick his arms deep into the front of the engine compartment with the engine running....
