Yep, Northern Colorado Mountain Run #12 is in the books. I had a great time, in spite of a bit of a problem (see explanation below). A fantastic week with some of the greatest people in the world. It wouldn't be possible without them. 'Way back in the beginning, I said, "I'm going, if you want to join me, come along. If nobody shows up, I'm going to have a good time anyway." Well, I can tell you that it would not be near as much fun without the folks that were there. And of course, there were some who we all would have loved to have there, but as we all know, life gets in the way sometimes. Those who were there were the lucky ones, myself most of all. I feel sorry for those who could not make it. Many thanks to all who showed up, and especially those who helped out (mostly everybody, actually) when I became, well, see explanation below.
And the stew was fantastic! Maybe the best one yet! Thanks again to all!

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Happy Trails! Good-bye, Good Luck, and May the Good Lord Take a Likin' to You!

John & Carol would like to say:  Thanks for the good times and fantastic trails Bruce!!

Got home about 4:30 and was chased by a rainy cloud front all the way with high cross winds.

As usual the folks all chipped in to help make it a great time. The only thing wrong with the NCR was it ended.Cry

Until we Jeep Again! Oilly

Most of my pics look about the same as Rick’s.

Kate helped me get this video.

Bruce W. It looks like a good time was had by all. I thought about it but a few weeks ago I fired up the Jeep, Great, Started driving it to the store. OOPS, no brakes. I hope you had a good time at your HS reunion as well.

I had no idea you could buy a roll of tape that says "DANGER MEN COOKING".  Big smile

I really really really really hope to make this trip some day.

Bruce, thanks again for another great week full of adventures.  We sure enjoyed the best of fellowship with those who were there.  I hope a few day's of rest for you will kill the cold.  I'm glad none of the rest of us caught it.  The weather was great, and the trails were both challenging and enjoyable.  But not always at the same time!  We're glad we were a part of this legacy, and we plan to be here again next year.  So once we get done with some clean up and re-sorting gear we'll get some photos published to share with those less fortunate.

Man o man. I wish Linda and I could have made it. On a positive note, my cardiology appoint went very well. Doctor up here said I was good to go for another 68 years so I’m thinking lots of runs in our future.
Looks like everyone had a great time.

I echo everyone it was a great time, wish they would not end but that is part of the adventure. The stew was the best ever, had it for supper.  Can't wait for FCT!

I add my thanks to Bruce and all attendees for the great time. I especially want to thank everyone for tolerating my compulsions to bash a few rocks and waiting patiently while I did.

Just to set the record straight, in Ricks picture above I am leaning over in order to make that rock pile not seem as steep as it was. Here is my picture of the actual slope. Pay no attention to those leaning trees they are some sort of natural freaky phenomenon.  TongueBig smile

Some other pics.

Historic fire lookout tower.

Slab piles left by tie cutting crews back in the day. We saw quite a number of these. I wondered if Grampa’s Jeep could climb up one of these. Didn’t try it though.

These next two are the view from a spot Bruce calls “The Top of the World.”

Really looks neat. Hope to see more pictures - I may have to do this one without my co-pilot next year! I envy you all that live in or near the mountains. The scenery is just awesome. See you all in September...…….

A couple of characters …

A guy with lots of character, and a little tilted ...

Stan, at the top of Katiedid Hill

Stan, the picture of the jeeps at the top of Katiedid just looks like 3 jeeps in a field. Folks won't realize what it took to get there, and down again. I hope to share the top with more friends when we jeep again.

Bruce, thanks for sharing the trails, and not the germs. Great stew, great views, great friends.
