Picked these up because they were listed as NOS for CJ2A, MB, GPW. As you can see, they are larger than a standard 2A condenser. It does fit in my distributor, but rests against the distributor body when installed. (L134, stock distributor)
Is that ok? Will these work on my 2A? If not, what is the intended application for these condensers?

Hopefully they have not deteriorated internally over the years. The older caps have a better system of internal grounding than the problematic new ones.

I bought a couple NOS condensers off ebay 2 years ago. One was installed, the other is in my spares. It runs like a top.

Good find!

As long as the condenser does not rub on the distributor body when the mechanical advance moves the point plate, it should be fine. In the picture it looks like it might be OK. Also be sure that the wire is not rubbing on the distributor body, that looks close.

That was my concern too, Logger, until I remembered the point plate doesn't move, the upper portion of the shaft does.

You can also look to companies like Accel and Mallory for racing grade condensers of a higher quality a little more money but hey they will work.

Can anyone tell me the size of the mounting screw for the condenser. I dropped mine, and it has disappeared into oblivion.
Thank you!

It didn’t drop down into the bottom of the distributor did it? Better get it out if it did, those parts down there won’t like it. When working on the distributor it’s a good idea to put a small piece of tape over the hole in the points plate to prevent small parts from dropping thru.

No, I dropped it off the work bench. It has disappeared into the black hole.
