I was invited into a Facebook group about 9 months ago.   I joined,  but always felt like I did not really fit in.  I was possibly the oldest member,  and by far -> have the oldest Jeep.  (I think the next closest is a mid '80s CJ7)
Each month,  they have a contest to pick the group "cover shot".    I have entered the contest a few times,  but never came close.

This month,  I entered a photo "on the rock" from Imogene in CO.    One of my favorite photos EVER was of BamBam and Jpet from there.   Now I have a similar one of my own.

For several days,  Wilson and I were a distant 5th in the voting.  The top 2 were a JK on a RTI ramp, and a Cherokee with LED lights in fender-wells.   It is ironic because I was going to post that a cool '2a photo could not get votes on a JEEP group,  with something as amazing as a '2A on Imogene!  haha

But starting yesterday,  the votes have been piling up.   Wilson and I are currently in the lead !!

I don't necessarily want to win,  but am so happy that a (modern, younger) Jeep group can appreciate the older ones.  Smile

That was a good day even though I got a bit wet and hailed on. I was disappointed that you east coast guys didn’t get the full effect of the views from the high passes due to the clouds/fog, but that weather had a beauty of its own that I was glad I got to experience.

I agree,   that was not the weather I would have chosen,   especially the fog/rain at top of Black Bear Pass,   but overall the day was great.     If it HAD to rain,  then it was timed good for our progress.   The clouds did make for some dramatic scenes at times.

As an east-coaster,   one of the things that amazed me was how fast my pants dried out after getting soaked from the 2nd rain.

Check it out !!   just announced today:

The old ones are appreciated,   even in a "modern/young" Jeep group.  Big smile

edit:  I had a couple "view angles" I liked from that spot,   just realized that the one I submitted to FB was not the same as the one I posted at beginning of this thread.
