I'm almost at the point to put a finish on my drivetrain (frame, axles, trans, t-case, engine) and I usually do a primer and paint, but am considering using POR-15 since it seems like it's very durable and hard. I'm sandblasting right now and it's pretty rusty and I'm concerned that I might not get it all off. I'd like to try this stuff since I've never used one of those rust converters, but I also want it to look nice and smooth and not sure I can get that with POR-15. I also don't like the price...
For those of you that have done full body off restorations, what did you do to your drivetrain and how is it holding up?

Southern Polyurethanes Inc. easily qualifies as the best primer I have ever used. You can paint nuts and bolts with this stuff and it stays on.
The black primer will look semigloss and requires no top coating. Application temperature is critical. For 24 hours it must remain above about 55*.

My son did the bottom side and the entire inside of his ‘73 Z-28 with POR 15. It went on very nice and looks very good. Hard to find a brush mark. The body man he’s been working with endorsed it and coated the trunk floor with it after he repaired it. How it will hold up I can’t say because this car is a ways off from seeing the road. But the body man said 👍🏻

KBS makes great products, There Rust stop works well on frames, used it on 5-6 now. Like Por-15 it needs a top coat if exposed to UV. It doesn't effect the durability but will loose it's gloss. I like there primer as well. Both Ruststop and Por15 are messy! I've brushed it on an also got a cheap $28 dollar Harbor Freight sprayer and sprayed it on. I like the spraying better, less drips and way quicker, but brushing is ok as well, it self levels.

If you are sandblasting the frame, I would certainly recommend an epoxy primer over the bare metal. And then your choice of top coat over the EP.
