I've seen a few of these brackets for a trailer ball but, not sure what is the correct search term, what vehicle may have had it as standard equipment, or been able to find a source. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Looks like one would be handy for light applications around the farm.

Its original, intended use was not as a tow ball mount, although it works very well for that. It was meant as a hitch for agricultural equipment. One could adjust the draw height to four different heights to optimize pull angle for different ag implements. And, yep, you can adjust your trailer ball height as well.

Lots of information in the Parts Manual.

Info posted under "Parts" here in the forum:

And in the "Parts List Database," pick your preferred edition and search.

Search "GROUP 35-01 SPECIAL EQUIPMENT"

Thanks again, that is an interesting post/info from a historical perspective. After searching for a bit I wasn't getting any hits so figured it would take about 5 minutes for someone to clear my mystery...lots to learn and research as I move forward.

Looked handy for pulling a small sprayer assembly around.

If you're not looking for 100 percent period correct, you can buy a 2-inch receiver hitch attachment from Harbor Freight for about 30 dollars and 2 grade 8 bolts, nuts, washers ect for a few dollars from your local tractor supply shop and bolt a 2-inch receiver to your draw bar.  I did have to elongate the holes int the receiver hitch piece to match up with the draw bar, but not too much.
