Anyone else find a way to get a pintle hook into the living room? It’s an old Goodyear tire warehouse cart

I worked with a guy that built a twin turbo 454 in his living room. He is no longer married.

😂 A classmate in vocational school rebuilt his Volkswagen Beetle engine on the coffee table (in a trailer house ) I asked him what the wife thought about that, he said she left him after he honed the cylinders in the bathtub 🛁 😂😂😂 Lee |

You folks are marrying the wrong girls. I parked two motorcycles in my living room drip pans & all when we were first married. I also overhauled a VW air-cooled engine, or three, using the dining room table. She was really on board when I said our next house had to have a two car garage with a concrete floor. Right now, I have boxes of parts & pieces stacked up next to & under a large, beat up dining room table in our den. I know at least one of those boxes contains a pintle hook. We have been married for 37 years now. |

Well, at least you guys were in the house. All of my stuff was in the garage where it should be, and she complained I didn’t spend enough time with her. We are divorced 41 years now, and I am well on the way to “lived happily ever after “.

My grandfather rebuilt his 1917 Indian in the Kitchen. My grandmother was still telling the story and laughing about it when she was in her 80s. They went on to raise 11 kids and lived together until the end.
My second wife got all bent out of shape, and pitched a screaming fit about me cleaning a Jeep bell housing, timing cover, and tappet cover in the dishwasher which I had installed long before she moved in. They had already been cleaned in the solvent tank so didn't get grease all inside, but she didn't like the smell. I divorced her in 1994 for other reasons, and have lived happily ever after since.

The engine re-build in the kitchen is pretty common it seems. I knew a guy (single) who had the engine stand set up so all he had to do was make a quarter turn from his steak and potatoes to wrench on the engine.
I spent a night in a drive-in motel in New Mexico where for sure someone did an oil change on their motorcycle. Carpet as pig mat.

Reminds me of the wagon wheel in "When Harry Met Sally", though I would have to keep anything that was in the Goodyear warehouse and find a use for it. Cool as heck.

About 50 years ago, someone, whose name will remain unmentioned, once got their Jeep into the high school through the shop class garage door and drove it down the halls.
Some trouble came from that, but nothing like what would come nowadays. If someone did that now they would call in S.W.A.T. teams and it would be on the national news.

We had a kid ride a motorcycle through our high school halls back in the mid 70s.
School halls were somewhat 'h' shaped, so he came in one door, made the loop and went out the same door. It was talked about for quite a while! |

Obviously rigged to be able to connect several together in a train. It would be interesting to see a picture of them in use and what they towed them with. Edited by 47 deuce alpha - 13 May 2023 at 8:00pm |

They were, & might still be, used to transport baggage from the train to the station. I have seen trains of these carts as long as ten long moving baggage. That was in the 60s IIRC, in Portland Oregon. A small tug or tractor pulled them. The tug was not much bigger then a cart. I have moved a small train of two of them with a small forklift.
