I have notice several item I have for the Jeep dash were plated but the plating was faded or worn off. I wonder what the actual plating was. My guess would be zinc or chrome.

Alan,
I assume you are referring to the governor and e-brake handles. I have no idea what they were plated with. I have found Eastwood's detail gray is a very good match in color.

That is what I was talking about and thanks for the tip. I think the emergency brake handle and governor nut and handle were zinc plated. I thought someone would know more about it then me. Thanks for your input and I will look at the paint kit |

Don't know about the governor handle.
I've seen later e-brake handles w/chrome plate. Early e-brake handles were painted black. Fasteners & windshield latches were zinc or cad. plated. Sean |
