What kind of price would you expect to pay for this, and say what state you're in please. Mid to late 40's CJ2A, all stock, good running engine, good brakes, runs, drives, shifts and stops well. Decent tailgate, seats frames but very rough. Body has lots of rust, but is definitely saveable with patches. Windshield frame is rough but saveable.  Junk tires. Basically, good barn find condition,  but mechanically sound.

Well, I've just bought one jeep, but I'd be ready to pay $1,500-$2,000 for something of that nature. That is because you said it is sound mechanically. Maybe more depending on how rotted the tub is. I live in California.

When you look at prices they seem to be going up as we speak. I have bought 3 cj2a's in Pa. the low was 650.00 high 2500.00. I bought one in Ind. for 7000.00 but it is a very early 46 w/column shift that is 100% original with some dealer options as well. It will run but needs brakes tune up etc. So it comes down to how much do you want to do and how much money you want to spend.

Ohio - A friend sold a package deal of two CJ2As (1 was a parts Jeep) to Nick for $1,800 this Spring 2021.

Nick had one of them running and playing in the mud within a few days.  This was a fair deal these Jeeps need a lot of work.

$1500 to $2000. That’s cuz it’s running and stops. That also depends on what I’d want to have it for. If I’m looking to flip it then I’d go less. To a guy just starting out it’s nice to have a good runner to begin with. When you say rough we all know what that means…. Oh and the frame needs to be real nice.

Well,  here in northern California:
I paid $1,800 for my '46 2a in Dec. 2017 because i had a fire in my pocket, and was yearning for another Willys cj2a for 'yard art' to enjoy each day.   Engine runs, but needs brakes and steering.
I really bought it as an excuse to do a modified IH Scout T18 4-speed and modify it to easily slip in behind my little go-devil L134 engine.  I completed the modified T18 in April 2021.

I knew enough from snooping here on the forums to look for the frame vin tag riveted to the front outside frame rail on drivers side.   It is aluminum riveted, and just behind the front bumper.
The number on this tag should match the aluminum tag screwed to the firewall on passenger side.
My Willys has both matching tags with a clear California title.
I just looked at a compromised cj2a tub, and the guy wanted $700, no paperwork, and I didn't even make an offer.

I would say pricing depends on how much a buyer is willing to pay.

I didn't expect to purchase a solid driver (w/ good tub) for any less than $5,000.

Thanks all.  Looking to see what others experience has been lately.

Now, how much extra (if any) would you be willing to pay for the same one, but with a matching, transferable title?

So is this thread about a actual Jeep?  If so, post some pictures and lets see this matching numbers barn find!

I’ve been figuring a good title to be worth about $300, plus or minus. On the right jeep with matching numbers and an good airtight title, I may consider the title worth more. There are a lot of ways to screw up a title, and I’ve seen most of them. Been bitten by a few.

i just purchased a cj2a frame complete with motor and trans, took me a couple of hours to get it running, paid $900, thought that was a good deal, no title, but correct tags on frame and remains of firewall,

there is a process to get a new title in most states as long as you can document that its been abandoned for an extended period,

i bought a running driving, rusted cj2a this spring with title for $2300,
