   All,
In a previous thread I mentioned I was starting a new build.  Having acquired a pretty much full '47 CJ minus engine, I did some math, ran some numbers, and took a few measurements.  A bit of research and I figured why not make this one electric.

Parts:
1947 CJ2a
Curtis 1231c controller - 500a/96-144v
Thunderstruck EVCC and BMS
Elcon 1500 Charger
DC-DC converter (144v-13.8v/50a)
39 LifePO4 200AH prismatic cells (in series for 125v)

Started the project May 12.  Almost done.  Pictures below:

	Interesting...that tub appears to have been in amazingly good shape rust-wise.

	I"m very intrigued with the electric conversions on classics. Very cool! What does a battery pack like that weigh?

	Tufcj2A, interesting project! Is your battery pack intended to be air cooled? EV packs generate a lot of heat and most OEMs engineer them to be liquid-cooled, for cars, light trucks and everything larger. What sort of fan/ducting arrangement are you planning?

	Tub was in great shape. Very little work needed to be done. The batteries weigh about 300lbs, along with the motor and other pieces the total weight is about 550lbs, similar to the standard engine with all accessories. I got lucky with that one. I will air cool the batteries. On the bigger builds running higher amps and harder driving they do liquid-cooling. I saw enough air cooled that I'm okay for now. If I need to add it later I can. I'm using fans to push air across the battery pack, electric motor and controller.
