Bob3b was kind enough to offer help. He is in the process of improving on my image file to make it perfect. The font on mine was not 100% compared to the original font.

I'm working on this sticker tonight...and have a quick question for anyone who might know the answer.

Do you suppose the sticker was generally clear and picked up the black background when it was stuck onto the PTO gearbox, or like in the photo above do you think it was gray?

I have a photo of one and certainly the edge was clear where I can see it peeling up.

I would think it would have been clear so it wouldn't have to match the factory black paint. If the belt pulley had been any other color than black, then I would think it would be a black background. I think going clear now would be good for anyone since not all will use the same black paint to restore their pulley. Thanks for taking the time to work on this! Bob

It should definitely be clear.   Black and red are very difficult couloirs to match. The background would always be distinct from the rest of the gearbox.

Good thinking all. Clear it will be.

What I found was that it's easier to fix the phtoto of onenintook rather than recreate it.

The font is not a standard font and in fact almost looks to me like it may have been created by hand as all of the lettes are slightly different sizes.

Bob,
As you indicate the edges are clear. The sticker however is placed on the cover plate which was not painted. I'm seeing this on my NOS unit - the cover plate must have been plated only (slight rust on mine). The decal definately is black (not grey) with the yellow edging and yellow writing. It was not see through.

I have this picture from 1948. Its a truck, but I'm sure that doesn't matter. Does not look like the decal is on there though. Wonder if it was only on certain years?

I am wondering the same, and also are they all 1:1 ratio or is this a decal for a special gear box.

I think there were different ratios available but I have never seen one other than 1 to 1
