As I continue with my tear down I have a few more questions that I hope someone can help me with. 1. My axle has as what appears to be a groove in it and the manual I have seems to show this groove. Is this correct or do I have a worn axle that needs attention? 2. Can I buy new spring clips or are these unattainable and I must use different ones? 3. I’m not sure if my Fulton hitch is complete or am I missing a tab under the knob? Thanks for any information and I will continue to post pics as my progress continues. Your stub axle looks normal.
Those spring clips used to be available from Peter DeBella, There is a tab under the knob. Not sure where you would look to find one though. Maybe someone else has an idea. Edit, I just looked, they still are http://www.debellajeepparts.com/ Edited by bkreutz - 22 Sep. 2011 at 4:05am |

Those tabs for the hitch are as difficult to find as the fulton is. I made my own. The pics here may help you. It's purpose is to lock the knob to prevent it from turning. You may be able to modify a fulton repair kit to work.

Thought I was missing the tab, I will keep my eye out for these elusive parts did you have a sketch or a sample tab to make one from? Ken
