I have two radiators to show.
The first is the standard two core. The part No. is the same in both '45 &'47 parts list.
The cores are approx. 5/8" x 3/32" and 9/16" apart and staggered between the rows. The fins used a # 10 on a radiator fin comb. The fins are all one peice.
Group 14 Core, Tank, and Shroud Assembly PART No. 640145
This includes the Shroud Part # 640144 (I see no other No. that would designate this as one with, or without the Govenor Knotch)
Notice the bracket that goes up the side of the radiator and wraps up the top of the tank. The regular one (unpainted) is narrower than the painted one behind it....(Hot climate radiator). You can use this as a spotter flag when looking at them.
The next is the Hot Climate Radiator. Notice that the Shroud is different and not bolted to the fan shroud but welded. It too has the knotch for the Govenor.
The cores are approx. 11/16" x 1/16" at 11/16" apart and grouped in pairs with a space between. the rows are staggered and the fins are seperate between the rows. There are three rows and use a # 12 on the radiator comb.
GROUP 35-22 RADIATOR (HOT CLIMATE)
CORE, TANK, and SHROULD PART No. 640880
This next part has just been discussed and maybe You guys can repost or Russ will link your insight to this post. These are two that I have,.. I have no idea if they are correct or not.
Cap, radiator filler, assembly PART NO. A-1215
I may have another cap or two, I'll look and see if it's different than these.

can you decipher the difference in those caps as to how many pounds ?
unpainted on the left is what I respect, am told is original to my '47 , said to be fourteen pounds . painted black cap on the right looks to be an early model , is this correct ? |

the 2A's only come in 2 models... a 4# and a 7#.....the 7 will work, but actually run a little hotter unless you are running a higher number thermostat.... the factory service manual calls for the 4#...

You aren't saying a 7# cap will make one run hotter than a 4# are you?

This shows the A -1215 as stock part for the MB and GPW. More than likely was used on at least early 2a's?
it would be interesting to see this out of the cosmoline

I have seen this type cap & it is the same as the black one in your original post. I
would guess this one is probably an F stamped cap from Ford. I'm basing my comment on similarly packaged caps I've seen.
