If you purchase the one from Walcks, it will work with 12V or 6V, and it'll be routed just like the factory wiring, but there was no fuse box back then so if you really want a fuse box, you'll have to get one, decide where you want to put it, then do some modifications to the wiring harness to attach to the fuse box.  Still shouldn't be that difficult, but it won't be as easy as if not doing a fuse box.
You could also just add inline fuses for the aftermarket things you're adding.  If you're not adding aftermarket things, there shouldn't be a need for any extra fuses.

I've never used a Painless or E-Z harness though but maybe someone here has.

Could be mistaken, but thought Walcks (like most) sell harnesses by year, make, and model --- not by "6 volt" or "12 volt".

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that a harness made for a "6-volt jeep" is identical to one made for a "12-volt jeep" (same wire gauge size used for both).

Can't find any technical specs like wire gauge sizes on Walck's site to prove that.

Only a phone call might tell.

Yes, that was kinda the point I wanted to make with my post ( right before Scratch's)

I can't see them making two different harnesses (in that respect)

Jpet does a real good job of explaining how to post pics in this thread:

But don’t use the “quick reply” box, use the “post reply” button instead.

Here's the manual (it's a large file).
Wiring diagram on page 123.

By the way, serial number locations are shown with photos on pages 3 and 4.

Good luck!

Dangerous waters, asking that question around here lol.
My recommendation, if your engine truly is original and not rebuilt, would be a heavier oil, I use 15w40 diesel in mine, not saying its correct, but it's really up to the individual and their engine

I run 15W-40 Rotella. I also like that Lucas Hot Rod Motor oil. It has a lot of Zinc (Zddp) in it. I run that in my Nova, but it seems like overkill for the Willys since the Willys has pretty low valve spring pressures. You can run straight 30 weight too.

I would think the 30w is a good choice for an engine in good condition.

Haven’t heard any comments lately about detergent or non detergent oils. Is the term still used? Seems at one time it was difficult to find a detergent 30w oil most straight 30w were non detergent.

Last I heard, and this was a few years ago, you can run either, unless the jeep has run non detergent for 70 years. From my understanding is switching to a detergent after many years of non detergent use can cause  the deposits to clog up the system. I don't know what the time frame is for that though

This started as a re-wiring topic.
Did the oil discussion move to here?
Asking because I see the last oil discussion thread got vaporized for being beat to death. LOL

I agree, I was trying to answer the fellas question without inciting too much oil talk.
I think a better answer would have been, "as long as it has oil you're good"
