Hello I working on a dana 41 and have total messed it up. So I'm going to break it down again
and start all over! I believe I have two parts backward and I hope turning them around will fix the problem that I am having. First I can't seem to get the side play out of the pinion when I torgue it up to 200-220 and it slinging oil out of it likes its going out of style. I believe I have the seal for the yoke in backwards and there is a washer with a dome shape behind the seal. What I believe is happening it the washer and seal are facing the wrong way is keeping me from pushing the rear bearing back into seat and that is why I am getting some side play. First can some tell me which way the dome washer faces, the dome toward the bearing or toward the drive shaft. Second the rear seal is flat on one side and has a raised center section on the other, which side faces the drive shaft.
