How do I find out what my front and rear drive trains are, 1948 cj2a,, my rearend has a round cover and a grease zert on each axel tube by the dust cover on the brakes, sorry for stupid ? but new to this stuff.

D-25 or D-27 front diff.....D-41 rear diff....
 
your description sounds like the D-41 in the back....

How often do I need to grease the rear axel bearings, so the gear oil stays in the pumpkin ?
