The Temp gauge in my 2A is non-op. Mine has been converted to 12v, so I'm looking for recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

I just bought one of these to replace the original one that suddenly died. This is an accurate reproduction of the original. Crown and Omix are not correct.

I totally messed up, I wrote fuel gauge but I meant temp gauge. This is what happens when you lack sleep and you have two tiny terrorists (ages 3 and 6) waging Jihad and tearing up the living room.

The original temp gauges are not electrical. Voltage doesn't matter. This is the best reproduction I've found. Pricy, but ...Made in the USA.

I just installed a Joe's Motor Pool temp gauge today. It looks very similar but the armor wrap is not the same. Got it here for $48 including shipping.

Great leads but it adds to my conumdrum. Try to build my CJ as period correct as possible. I have a military engine but I'm trying to not add military parts to the exterior; thus take away from the CJ side of my rig. Maybe I could use the OD green gauges and just paint them so they look correct
I feel like I'm strattling two different worlds and just trying to do right by both . . .

The military and CJ gauge is the same. Just the bezel is painted black. I use Duplicolor trim black.

X2. Just paint the bezel black and it's now a civilian.

That is an Omix part. It matches the Omix site. Not a fan of it. Only positive is if you are using their sending unit, it might be calibrated. I'm running Joes Motor Pool gauge and Omix sender. I had to bend the sender a bit to get it somewhat accurate. https://www.omix-ada.com/temperature-gauge-41-47-willys-models.html
You have to do some digging on your own or ask the suppliers questions to find out what you are really getting. Usually, their site will reference a part number that can easily be searched. Micah

I have the Walck's gauge too. It works fine and looks good, but the nuts are metric and the feed wire doesn't have the original look.

Walcks in my rig. Works fine.
just so we're clear, the original and the Walcks/Omix replacement are mechanical, not electric gauges. There is a bulb at the engine end filled with some sort of temperature sensitive stuff and a flexible tube that goes to the gauge. Engine heats up and the sauce in the bulb/tube expands and mechanically moves the needle on the gauge. Do not kink, pinch or puncture the tube or all the magic sauce will leak out and your gauge won't work.

"Magic sauce"? Is that a technical term?

There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable
