Has anyone seen a reflector/light combo that appears like the original passenger rear reflector, but is also an LED or recessed light fixture?  I’m thinking this might be the best of both worlds because I like things to be stock looking, but also have improvements that came along later... like left and right turn signals. Please pass along if you have any info. Thanks, Jason

That's a pretty good idea. I'd like to know if something is available for that application as well. I'm getting tired to people pulling up next to me telling me my right tail light is out.

I used some LED flat panels on my 71 Maverick to make sequential taillights like a late '60s Cougar. I had to put one panel behind the reflector portion of the lens assembly to work as a running light. Photos of the assembly is on my build page.

I have thought about using a round LED panel on the 2A taillights. It seems as though they are popular with the Harley crowd. Maybe a flat panel could be placed behind your reflector with similar results to what I had. I don't have a reflector. So, I'm not sure how much clearance you have. Maybe a 1/4" metal ring would give you enough room without being noticeable.

Hopefully, you can find something that works. Let us know what you do.

This one looked pretty interesting:

I had an issue when I installed LEDs on the back of my motorhome, put some incandescants on  the motorcycle carrier, problem was solved.

Here’s what I came up with... thanks to a product suggestion by Micah and a little ingenuity. It has both running light and stop/turn function and is flush to the back except where a hole would need to be drilled to pass the wires through.  Still need to epoxy everything together and paint the bezel for 2a color.  I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?  Maybe I should post in the Member created parts???

Thanks for the positive feedback. I was looking at my tub, and the center of the reflector seems to line up in right front of the rear passenger tub anchor bracket. So you would have to drill a hole through both the tub and the bracket for wiring. The socket connector is about 1/2” or 9/16” diameter... but if you cut that off, you could easily get the wires through just a 1/4” hole.

I'm not really understanding why you would want a bulb socket on it ...(since there isn't a light on that side anyway)

I dunno just thinking out loud.

Is there a way you could use a hollow bolt to run the wires through?
