My M100 plates are in sorry shape, how would I restore them?

buy a set off e-bay...cant think of the sellars handle but I do know he was in Poland and he was very resomable for the set I bought Wink

Robert DeRuyter is the gentlemans name....He can restore your originals, but
I agree his reproductions are spot on.  I have one of his Bantam plates on
my T3.  He can also correctly stamp them with your serial #'s.  You can email him
at rdrnl@xs4all.nl.  He'll fix you up!

What about with the inspected by mark?
I'd rather keep my originals and try to make it look better myself. Ideas?? Thanks

Here's what I did.
 
Take a scoth pad and clean the plates well.   Your looking at removing the oxidation and making the raised letters 'shine' a little.   Spray paint the the whole surface with semi-gloss black paint.
 
Let dry over-night.
 
Then sit down at the dinner table one eveing and take an Exacto-Knife and start scraping off the paint on the raised lettering.   Take your time.  One plate a night and they will look beautiful.
 
I've had many comments on mine and folks think they are new.   My 2 cents...
