You are correct, of course, but could you shout it any louder?

lol!

In my advanced age I got things twisted up in my mind. You will get there one of these days, trust me...

Yes, the size should be reduced to help feed more oil to the #1 main bearing and rod.

Thank you for pointing out my mistake.

Back to our regular programing...

The neighbor doing this rebuild actually has some kind of service manual, I think he bought it from Kaiser, or his son got it, something....I'll look for the download next.

Anyway, this oil jet info looks like a good find. I looked at the jet on the old cracked motor, clearly a larger .07 hole there. The one on newer motor I couldn't see well enough, but have passed on the info.

He's decided to go ahead with taking the newer motor to a rebuilder in Tulsa. He'd taken that original motor to them, and they spotted the crack. Only issue with them was they were a little slow, but that was Covid stuff. Slow in his opinion, like a month.
The newer motor seems to be an M38 based on a head number I located during all this research. Does not look to have been bored, as the earlier one had. I guess that's a positive. If its a later motor, could the correct oil jet size, we'll see. Maybe something can done during rebuild.

LOL Well, one day someone is going to take the keys for Ol' Red and my 18 F-150 Ford away from me and escort me to the old folks home at some point in the future. It won't be pretty, but it will probably need to be done at some point. Not quite there yet, but any day now!

I've also located this monster, it may be what he already has. 281 Pages!
Takes a bit to open.

Sadly, he is a non-computer guy for the most part. Its all there, though.
Also saw one for sale at Kaiser Willys, I think that may be the one he's got.
