Hello has anyone used a reliable shipping company to transport their jeep? Im looking at a jeep that is 1000 miles away. Theres so many to choose from. Just looking to see if anyone has experience with a good one they used in the past. I am getting a few quotes. Would you guys ship in closed container? Thanks for any help

There are many good ones. If you want enclosed, check Reliable. It really depends on where it is and where it is going. If it's in Chandler AZ and you want it to go to Detroit, Reliable will probably do it fairly cheap, since they are regularly making this run. I would check around though. VB Auto Group in Illinois Just transported our car from Florida to Michigan, open container for $700.

I've used UShip twice. Once was in 2015, when I had a 2010 Jeep Wrangler shipped from Tulsa, OK and the second was in 2019, when I had my 1948 CJ2A shipped from Grand Junction, CO. Both shipped to Lake Havasu City, AZ. When you get multiple quotes, you just have to check the reviews from customers and how long they've been in business. The first one was transported on an open trailer and the second one was enclosed. I guess I wanted to baby the '48! Emotional thing I guess. Plus, the open would be delivered sooner, since there are more of them than enclosed. BTW, both drivers kept excellent communications with me and they didn't mind me texting them.
I did try Montway Auto Transport, at first, for the '48, but the driver cancelled the day of pickup. Montway did try for other drivers, but couldn't find one right away, I guess the bid I got from the first driver wasn't acceptable to others. I waited a couple of days, cancelled Montway and went with UShip. Just realize things can happen and you need to roll with the punches. But you do have choices if it's not acceptable. Good luck!!

Morning DesertDog 48, Rocky was the driver I finally used to ship my '48. If I had to do over again, I would have shipped on an open trailer compared to the enclosed, that I eventually used. I just contacted him and he gave me the okay to give you his #. It's 217-685-1745. Good luck, hope it goes well and stay safe.David

I purchased a 1951 M38 from California - shipping to North Carolina. I tried U-ship. Average price was $1800 to $2100. open trailer. I called Nexus Auto transport- 2 days later was informed that the Driver was picking the Willys up and would be delivered in 3-5 days. Today is pickup day. The price is $1579 total -all fee's.I will follow up with the results when it arrives. 2756 miles. They required a $ 279 deposit with the remainder due at delivery. Cash, money order, certified check.

I have gone with Uship several times, no issues....till now. Booked with SGT, they came in low bid , had problems finding a driver. Called me said I had to pay another $50 for a driver, said he needed more money. Total lie come to find out. SGT was padding their profit! Talked to the drive he said he never requested more money. So far it is a verbal agreement for the $50 extra. Once jeep is on the road I will file a complaint. 1700 miles...$1479 plus ...$50
