Just put a Wildfire 4 post in my shop, should have done it years ago, game changing.
I went back and fourth a lot between 2 post and 4 post. But ended up with the 4 post because I plan storing a vehicle up there for extended times, just didnt feel comfortable doing that on the 2 post. In the 8 months I’ve had it, I have not come across any task that the 4 post was a hinderance. I actually like having he ramps as little work tables when under there. I got the XL so it’s longer and higher. Splurged on the hydro jack as well |

For a jeep, there is more than enough clearance between the ramps to do any possible work, and with the added length i can slide the jack completely out of the way, i i added in LED strips on the each side of the ramps pointing up, to light up the underside with a flick of the switch

thanks for all the input.
due to several considerations, i have decided to go with 2 post with overhead hydraulic lines. i do not want the trip hazard on floor and we elevated the ceiling/rafters enough to just clear the 12 ft. clearance needed. but it all will be a tight tolerance fit. lift will be closer to front to ensure clearance. i do not have any full size truck concerns so the limited distance between door and post is not a problem. post will be at least 8 ft. from door. plenty room for the universal jeep. could still lift a longer vehicle, just would be required to leave the door open.

That will be a great setup for working on Jeeps. I wish my cables and hydraulics were overhead, not underfoot. I know Bruce sure likes his that way. Keep those photos coming. It's enjoyable watching your progress. I think this will be a great shop to work, and play in!

My favorite part of any building is when the framing goes up. I'm enjoying watching your progress too!
Before I started my barn I asked every one I crossed paths with that had built one: What would you do different? Without exception the all said "I'd have made it bigger!" At the time I had enough saved to build a smaller one complete or a big one as a shell. I did the later. 13 years later I'm still working on a dirt floor! Hopefully next year will see concrete which will be extra thick where a lift might be some day. I think your doing it just right! -Barry
