So while taking CHUG to a local mechanic to have the Weber carb Dyno tuned I decided since I was a little early to loop around and drop by the local Electronics store and visit the owner who I have known for years and who sold me all sorts of electronic and electrical stuff I used in CHUG.

As I take one of the 1 block long streets that cut from one one way to the other way. I see this bright Orange Porsche 914 come rolling down the alley in the middle of the Block to my left. There are a row of cars along that side of the street I am on so I doubt sitting as low as he was that he saw me coming.

NOW as you can imagine I am very protective of CHUG. SO I slam my hand down on the horn button which unleashes a pair of Hella 140db electric horns and a 145PSI Snail Air Horn thats supposed to be about 150db at 125psi. Needless to say he wasn't watching and would have plowed right into me.

He ducks his head as he slams on his brakes I was already at a stop. He mouths "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?" I just rolled on by.

CAUSE I didn't want to stand there while he cried bout what the 1/8" Thick C channel bumper on the front of CHUG did to his stupid over priced VW. And I sure didn't want anything to happen to CHUG.

I thought it was fair compensation for all the Porsche owners that treated my like sh*t when I was a kid pumping gas and 914's and 924's were quite common customers at the Big Chevron Freeway station I worked at as well as the stations I later Managed.

I found the whole event quite pleasurable LOL. I hope he wet his pants a little.

P.S. first thing I do when I get CHUG on the road each time is to pump up the Air tanks to 145PSI just in case someone needs to be made aware of CHUG.

Wow. Not quite my definition of "fun". To each his own I guess.

If you'd been driving the dump wagon maybe he'd have done more in his pants than "wet them a little".
Oh well, there's always the next time to collect the "compensation".

It must be real driving pleasure to share Oregon roads.

Good luck, and good hunting!

Now that's funny I just talked to my Nephew who moved his family to South Carolina about 3 weeks ago to be close to his wife's family and the first thing he talked about was how bad the drivers in SC were.

If I had been in the Dump truck he would have been able to see me over the row of parked cars and I doubt he would have come out into the street without stopping.

I'm also particular about our Willy's because I painted it myself and it was a lot of work. If I damage it, then fine, but I'd be mad in that situation. I am also picky about my old Nova, and my wife's '05 Grand Cherokee that she bought new. They are both nice and my wife takes great care of her car. The other evening I was out with my neighbor in his '67 C10 Montana farm truck that doesn't have a panel or piece of trim left undented and we were almost t-boned by a new Camaro. I screamed at the guy in the Camaro (which was a ZL1 and looked perfect), and my neighbor just calmly hammered the throttle (it has a 750 HP 540 cid big block Chevy) to avoid the Camaro. He then looked at me like "Dude, you need to chill!" I guess I've developed a bad habit.

Chill is right! Road rage incidents are becoming more common and even a little toot on the horn can cause some dude to come unglued. Some produce a gun. Some even fire that gun.

I am all for second amendment rights, but there are also some responsibilities that come with gun ownership. One is to keep your cool. Some can't do that...

In comment to the linked article above if I were to tell you what I thought of the morons that run the state of Oregon and it's education system I'm pretty sure I'd be asked to leave at least for a while
