Bought a set of NOS 9" brake shoes minus linings off ebay and sent them to a specialty clutch and brake shop to have "stickier" linings installed. Got them back yesterday. Am hoping this will give a sufficient increase in braking to avoid going the 11" or disc brake route with a need for different wheels. Has anyone here tried this route?

They look nice, let us know how they work. Does the lining cover more surface than the original?

I think they cover more of the shoe but am not sure. Don't have rivets thats clear. Should know in a couple of weeks if they are better. Took my 3A to a radiator shop and they asked to see my right calf. Wanted to see the results of using my brakes. Told them I used my left leg to drag it on the ground to stop.

Make sure they are arc'ed to the drum they will fit into for the best stopping power.
