Art, I really WAS hoping to have the 'project' there.....and I could bring part of it there but I don't think that's the way to really do it.....I think since next year's is rumored to be in Toledo, it would be best to try to get all my ducks in a row for that.....I know everybody there is getting tired of me saying "next year" but as you can see from the photos (which up to this point not many have seen) it was a little bigger piece of meat than I expected to be on my plate when I started....Kinda overwhelming to someone that doesn't like to farm much out....I thought I had a pretty good mindset in the beginning but the body was/is WAY much more work than I expected......Long story short, I'm sort of a 'meaning' kind of guy and I thought it really would be cool to 'unveil' it at Baraboo since the 2A was the Theme Vehicle (it would have meant something to me anyway) well, that came and went and the whole time I was there I wish it had made it.....Well, I think Toledo would be a good time now even if by some chance it gets finished before then.....sort of a 'step child' goes home or something.....I know this all sounds like a put off but I'm not much on showing a 'work in progress'....yes, the wagon will be there and I'm planning on bringing my '48 and a For Sale sign, so if you know anybody looking for just a good 'beater' or 'starter kit' tell 'em to bring CASH!!!! See ya there!

I haven't been to one but I'm working on it. I still have some major sucking up to do, I'll see everyone there though.   Look for a t-shirt, sweatshirt with an Arf on it, that will be me with wide eyes and lots of questions along with the ooohs and aaahhs. Hope to see everyone there.

You don't have to leave the family at home. They are very family oriented. This year there's all kinds of Route 66 history and then of course the 'Land of Lincoln' has all that history too.

My girl friend looks forward to Jefferson City every year. And with last year's Spring one being at a casino, well there ain't no way I could have snuck away for that one alone, she was counting the days!

This year's is shaping up to really be a great one too, looking forward to Springfield.

Like Chad said, we try to do these where there is something for the rest of the family to have something to do.

There is plenty of Lincoln history here, RT 66, and a shopping mall real close as well. The wife and I made a pit stop on the way back from Jeff City to scope out the hotel, and then we drove by the mall to get a good sense of directions to pass on when we get closer to R day.

It will be great to have you and the Family come!

Hi All,

I know I'm really late for entering but I did it today and I also got the last hotel room booked for Gary and I ( WHEW!). Also ordered T-shirts and the Banquet dinner.  So, I guess we'll see you all there.

I think in order to save gas money, I'm going to put a mizen mast in the middle of the Willys and sail down to Springfield. We've had rain here in Michigan for 7 days straight with no end in sight until Monday- maybe. My grass is so high, my kids can play hide and seek in the middle of the front lawn. Art, I hope you Kevin and Dennis are doing a Sun Dance down there.

Hey Bill, make sure you leave that rain where it is and don't bring it with you. See ya.
