Has any one on here had any experience with the USA made after market starters for the CJ2A that is available on ebay?

I have had a remanufactured one for three years. Zero problems. Engages every time. Spins the engine pretty quickly. Great improvement over the original.

I use a 6V Autolite repro starter from Pete DeBella. Awesome part.

Thanks fellows.  I ordered one that was made in the USA.  I seen on ebay that some were made over on the other side of the big pond that looked better than the ones made over here for about the same price. The one Peter sells looks like the foreign one that have  data plates on them.   Maybe I should have bit the bullet and bought one made over seas. I will report back after I get it and put some miles on it. The original one that I have on it now spins the motor real slow.  It has always started the motor but I want one to spin a little faster.

Make sure that all your battery to starter cables are big enough & not corroded, all 3 of them. If they are too small, the starter can not spin up fast enough, not even a new one. I use # OO sized cables, they really help in the cold climes. For 12 volt # 2 cables work well , but they are too small for 6 volt. Of course the connections have to be clean.

I tested to make sure it wasn't the ground causing the problem by using a independent temporary heavy cable to ground the starter to the battery.   Used new cables, cleaned all contacts and used star washers.

This is a link to one like I ordered

Received the USA made starter for CJ2A and was pleased with the way it looked, nicer than the pic in the add showed and the dust cover band even had the holes to attach a data plate which I had one and put on.
I installed the starter and it cranked over nice and a lot faster than the original one that was on it. But after I started the engine about three times and the starter quit cold turkey. Upon inspection I noticed all 4 of the 10X32X3/8 self taping  screws holding the back plate on were on the ground under the jeep and there  were only about three threads holding the plate on. The starter shaft might have been on a little bind when I installed it and caused the screws to let go.
I took the starter back off and replaced them with 10X32X5/8 pan head screws with star washers and now everything works great.
