I figured a definite way to get T90 C behind a Dauntless creating a super short drive train. 
In fact it would likely be the shortest ever flat fender drive train.
Procedure is somewhat involved but it's certainly do-able.

If anyone is serious interested in T90 C behind Dauntless I'll go into the details.

Oh never mind that just realized ...... it only will work behind a Buick 198 because of the different bellhousing.

   Here is my 2-cents _ _ and probably not worth much.

But if my memory serves me correctly, GM used Saginaw transmissions.

Jeep used the GM Buick V-8 in the gladiator and wagoneer late 60's-early 70's.
And those probably had a 3-spd T-something behind them T-14 or earlier ?
I am not sure when Jeep began the Dauntless V-6, early 60's ?
Oldtimer is probably on track with the trans he suggested and then a low-gear set for the transfer case maybe.
