He was beyond a great friend to me and my grandpa. I'll miss him for sure, especially talking about farm jeeps. R.I.P.

Low- thank you for breaking the news to this community.
Lonnie went home to be with the Lord in the early morning of November 28, 2021 at his home in Tompkinsville, KY. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be shared here when known. If you know someone in the CJ 2A community that is not active on the page and would want to be aware; please share this information with them. Please keep Marilynn and the family in your prayers. to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife. |

A huge loss for the Jeep community but a huge gain for heaven. Peace be with Marylin, and family.

This is very very sad news!
Lonnie was for sure one of the good guys in our WILLYS community. He & Marylin are just good folks and Lonnie is certainly going to be missed by anyone that met him. |

Lonnie was the first person from the Willys community that I met. He and Marilyn were instant friends and the sources of so much history. It is a sad, sad day, but so many wonderful memories.

This breaks my heart. What a truly good person. Watching him go downhill for years had to be hard on the family. Mindy and I see glad we got to see him in sept.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Marylin, Troy and the whole family. |

I didn’t know Lonnie well, but we’ll enough to know that the jeep world and the world in general has lost a good man. During one of my vapor lock learning experiences, he towed my jeep and I to the top of Cottonwood Pass. I’ll remember that forever. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Deb and I very saddened to hear this news. Lonnie will be dearly missed and we regret not to haven taken the time to attend one of the DeWeese Fall events to see him. I will also miss the out of the blue phone calls he would make to me to talk about Bantam Trailers or PTOs. He always asked how Deb and the Girls were doing and was always so positive and upbeat. Our thoughts and prayer go out to Marylin and the Family.

I’m so sorry to hear this, but the one consolation is, his long suffering is over. He had so many ups and downs. But he was always happy and positive every time I talked to him, no matter what.
I always thought of Lonnie as ‘the gentle giant.’ Physically he was a big guy, but kind as could be. I’ll miss him for sure. Praying for the family. Bill

My Deepest Sympathy to Marylin & Family. I am blessed to have known Lonnie. I was grateful to have visited Lonnie a few week’s ago and share Jeep stories with him. Especially the farm Jeep shows in Rantoual, Il. He will be missed.

Lonnie was a gentleman in every sense of the word. Honest, loyal, kind, friendly, helpful, sincere, and appreciative. I met him at a summer Willys Reunion, but got to know him during a Fall Color Tour. I'm sad that he is gone from his family, and from our Jeep community, but I know he is in a Jeepers heaven. RIP good friend. Our prayers go out to his family. God bless.
