So to continue the ‘hole story’. To drill a hole or not to, that’s the question?  I started this as following a coolant flush my engine was running cold. Endless sleepless nights, have I got a air pocket? Is the thermostat locked open? Well I finally got my new thermostat and decided on drilling a hole. I took the thermostat housing off and........

Oh my! No thermostat, no retaining ring, nothing! No wonder it was running cool! Mystery solved. That’s the good news, the bad news is I thought I would use the existing retaining ring. Bad plan. Oh well, it’s on order now!
