What would a 48 2A with title in my name be worth? I’d be selling this 2A with a good frame and it’s identity only.

My guess would be around 200. for a clear title with s/n and not motor # on it.

thanks for you input. I talked to a few locals that have paid 800-1200 for either just a paper title or a total POS not running (frame rotted in half, jeep bending in middle) but a good transferable title. A good frame should be worth a few hundred?

IMHO 'they' paid way too much.....but then again, I'm in a non title state.
I think Jim was on the money. |

Around here, a bare frame, $100.00. If the seller is lucky. A good title (I mean GOOD, I've seen most of the mistakes that folks can make and screw one up, and in Colorado, it can be VERY difficult to straighten one out), and all the necessary tags I will figure adds to the worth of any complete jeep, $250-$300. A title and tags alone, without a jeep to wear them, I wouldn't give over $150.00. For $800, I'd better get a complete jeep (with a good title) that I can tow home, for $1200 I should be able to drive it home.
If it's yours, put whatever price you want on it and see what happens, don't ask us and then argue about it. BW

I paid $250 for a title and all plates on ebay about 4 years ago. I was glad to get it for that price.

Good ole E bay I never knew! I’ll tell the guy that’s looking as I don’t think I want to let any of mine go. Ya just never know when it will come in handy. Especially in PA. It has to be legit and the person it’s name is in MUST be alive and able to sign it.... as I am. I have a drawer of junk ones in others names. Why? IDK myself! Lol

The type-written word does not always convey accurately what's on a guy's mind - one can easily be mistaken. BW

I recently tried to sell a clear title in my name for a vehicle that I purchased and then got rid of the shot and rusty body and frame. I kept the engine and all the identity tags. I got called on the sale as being illegal. If they ran the vin, all they would find is me owning the car. So, I think what was implied is the other guy may have a stolen car and is using your title to "launder" it. If you take a vehicle to a salvage yard, they won't take it without the title now. If you cut it all up, it's considered just metal. Things are sure screwed up. Anyway, good luck. Maybe a call to the local DMV in your state will make the laws currently enforced on this type of sale known. States are paranoid about being sued for issuing a title to someone for a stolen vehicle. Swapping identities is one thing, but building a car from parts????????. If I bought a body and frame, put my cars identity on it and moved on down the road, is that wrong now?

Don't know but I just handed of off a title this afternoon and it matched the Jeep I sold. His daughter is a title clerk in an adjoining county and mentioned that there might be a problem.
Not my problem, I'm just an innocent bystander trying to get Jeeps to people that want them. I've never had a problem with a title transfer except when they screwed up on reading the door tag on my '51 Chevy. Oh, yeah. Another $100 bucks for the title in pocket. |

We don't need no stinkin title here in GA, bill of sale will get you on the road with a tag, no titles for anything older than 1965.
