I went to the serial, date, and info page to update some numbers.  the transfer case # looks like K23-7 (even after cleaning, it's hard to read).  I don't see any others that look like it.  Can anyone give me info on that casting date?

October 23  1947 <----  is this the number casted into the side of the case? if so, what is the date stamped into the runner on top where the top shift housing goes?  these numbers should be near the "5 o'clock" position...low

It's on a tag, screwed into the case, next to the brake, just like the pic on the data page.

that is the transfercase assembly date, the transfercase csating date is on the rear, about the 5 o'clock position from the intermeditae shaft sticking out, actually behind the e-brake drum...the tranny casting date is on the left side of the case, between the bosses that would have been used for side shift, and the tranny machining date is on top, near the cane shifter assembly, again, the 5 o'clock position...low
