Is this gasket a dry fit or should I apply permatex (or other sealant/gasket maker) to both sides of the entire gasket, or just the perimeter (both sides)?

I don't know what others do, but I usually spray both sides with Copper-Coat.

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

I use Permatex aviation form a gasket (on just about everything)…PLUS, I make my own gasket for this application. I make a FULL-FACE gasket that covers the counter shaft hole. Do this and you won’t have any frontal transmission leaks.

I use aviation form a gasket as well on these kinds of assemblies.
