My old Jackman wheels are hammered. The spokes were cracked bad enough on this wheel to where it wouldn't hold air anymore. 1/8" 7014 seemed to fix that. My last trip to Sicily Island... I picked up an 07 JK Rubicon for a DD. Quite the change over the years. Started working on my spare D20. It'll get the tapered intermediate shaft bearings, 2.46 gears, and an oil level tube. |

I have a similar photo to that from 2013. Both of those vehicles have morphed a bit since. The 3B maybe morphed more than a bit.

Guess I'll bring this up to speed.
Removed the truss on the D60. Made it a roller. Hmmwv wheels and tires (37") Picked up a D20 pto setup. Started on the steering. Looking at my steering options still. This is a WJ steering gear. Just threw it up there like so to check some things out. So the engine.... I cut (ground) .137" off this head, 4 angle valve job, cut the guides for a positive seal, and did some port work. On the block side of things I did some port work (nothing crazy), valve guides, valve job, bored and honed .030" oversize (3.155"), and decked. I don't recall how much material was removed from the block. I spoke with a cam company and sent them a couple camshafts and my tappets. We came up with a cam grind that should work well for my intended use up to 7k rpm. I balanced the rotating assembly also. |

It's great to hear you're pushing for performance with the F134. I bought an aluminum F134 cylinder head from a racer down in Florida and have been gaining knowledge on getting the most out of these engines. He mentioned they live for a decent amount of time around 6k rpm, but anything past that such as his engines at 7500 blow up pretty quick due to the 3 main bearing crankshaft being flimsy. He does balance the rotating assembly.
Are you cutting into the head for a side draft intake? What carb setup? What cam company are you going with?

For now I'll use a rochester 2g from an sbc with custom adapter. Scneider Racing Cams out of California have a few grinds on hand but you'll need to give them a good cam core. Don't forget to send off your tappets as well.
I think side draft intake would be my next move. If this works well I might try a Weber 32/36 though. The cam grind is too aggressive for efi or I'd have rigged up tbi. I'm not looking to make huge power just a little better performance than before. I intended to race this jeep atleast once and then just use it for work and play but I'm still on the fence. Sounds like you've been talking to Jeremy. I had talked to him some about these but there's alot of information that isn't on the table because it's like race secrets and all that. Everything I'm doing has been through my own R&D. I'll keep messing with this until I get something that works how I want.

Put together a hood scoop. It's ugly but functional.

Runs and drives again. There is no comparison between this Fhead vs a stock Fhead... |

Looks great. Did you modify the Holley throttle arm to work with that geometry? How are you enjoying the EFI?

I had to bend the bottom of the throttle arm to clear the dipstick tube but the only thing that attaches there is the return springs. Cold starts are greatly improved. This is the 2gc version of the Sniper efi. I haven't driven it yet but I hope to get out on the road in a few days and do further testing.
