Yeah, it would work, but it's way too short for the little side vent tube to line up properly with the intake crossover tube bolted to the head. I want it to look somewhat original.

If used in a vehicle you would want the automotive dipstick settup so the PCV system will have a place to draw air to remove the vapors from the crankcase 👍🏽

Mike,

I saw a dip stick and tube down at the barn, and may have other stuff you need.

I'll PM my number if you want to yack about it.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Found a CJ dipstick, tube, & bracket in the “junk” that came with Black beauty!
Heard back from the machine shop, block is standard bore & magnaflux showed no cracks. I’m leaning towards running a dingleball hone down the bore, installing new rings, cam bearing, soft plugs & calling it good. Stopping by the shop to discuss today.
Feeling really good about my Hobart purchase.  A gamble that paid off so far

On a side note, there is a Willys F-head & CJ2A windshield on local Craigslist. Alfalfa, OR (Near Christmas valley).  Worth the drive if you need it. He is asking $350
