I am determined to get this project on the road this weekend. Here is the story:
New CJ2A to me. Original distributor (can't move it for adjustment at this time) Previous owner installed new dist cap and rotor (maybe incorrect parts??) New plugs New wires I just checked for TDC and #1 cylinder is compressing at roughly 5:30-6 position 12v battery I'm getting fuel in the cylinders She turns, but won't fire. I'm wondering if I'm not getting proper spark at the distributor. Any input would be welcomed! |

Did the PO also change the coil, coil wire, condenser and points? If so try another condenser, occasionally you get a bad one right out of the box. I had it happen to me on and old tractor. There are dozens of posts relating to your problem, google CJ2A not firing will get you to them.

Pope891- can we assume you've pulled a spark plug and, with the plug wire connected, turned the engine over to confirm that there is no spark? Have you checked and adjusted the points gap? Those are the first two things I would do, but I'm not really an expert.

You've probably thought of it already but check your ignition switch to be sure you have power in from the battery and out to the coil, sometimes the basic things are easy to overlook.
