well we need to get this rolling again as the springtime is here! salt washed off the road hopefully. warmer weather to help the cold starting issues, etc.

this thread used to be in General Discussion but it seems like it would live better in Jeep Photos and Stories. so, i moved it.

and remember there are two of these. one is WITH and one is TO. two different topics.

put the battery charger on yesterday and it fired right up with 1/2 choke and 4 pumps of the pedal. now to get going on next winters firewood.

Not today but recently - I backed two jeeps out of the shop so I could work on the third - new exhaust on “Lefty”.

Not today but 2 days ago I started Mine up and cleaned it up a little after sitting in the barn all winter and took my wife out to an Italian restaurant for dinner.  She is turning 77 and doesn't feel comfortable with the open sides on the jeep so I put a sissy strap on it for her. I don't  know if it helps much as security goes but she feels safer.

Was able to get the Sag P/S box and drag and tie rod linkage mocked up today. have full stop to stop turning radius, rods are level, and have 1-1/4" space between the 2 rods. looks good for first mock up.

Swapped the original spring on the heat riser with what's probably an Omix replacement. Gotta be better than what's there...

Hosed down the distributor with penetrating lubricant again.

Took it for a drive and it's running better than ever, if I can just get the timing advanced a couple more degrees and get it to idle.

The 46 is on pause for a while. The motor is just whooped. So it's pushed off to the side for now. May pull the motor this weekend.

In the meantime I shuffled things around so I can wrap up some loose ends on the CJ5. Also getting ready to upgrade the injection on the crawler.

So basically.......I moved things around the shop. Lame...I know.

This morning I put those two jeeps back inside because rain was predicted. We got snow.

Took the Rat Patrol on an overdrive test run... works great!  What a worthwhile addition.
Still need to bend on the shifter a little more, but it all works as it should. The body sits a bit lower than normal as my hat channels are mostly rotted away & the body mount pads are shot (at least those that are still there). That's probably most of my fitment issues- very little clearance for the linkage.

Put air in the tires so they were all the same.  Checked the oil then started it up and drove about 35 miles around town and out in the country.  It was cold out (50 f) but I didn't notice it and had a great time.

Looks like what was in the back of my old ‘70 Bronco pickup.
It started life as a Marion county mosquito spray rig.
