I made a new PVC flag pole to fly the colors from my jeep tomorrow. I had a wooden pole that served well for years. But I was flying the flag on Memorial day and forgot to remove it before pulling into the garage. Snapped it clean off

Spent a lot of time on the crawler over the last couple days. The trip to Rausch Creek before the Picnic left me with a broken front shock mount and a blown out shock.
So I redesigned the shock mount. It's now a triple sheer with an added brace to the underhood tube works. It's plenty beefy now. Rebuilt the front shocks. Then I removed the rear air bumps and shortened their travel from 4 inches to 2 3/4 inches. The bumps were coming into play too early. This ought to do the trick. Then I notched and boxed the frame some more to clear the steering works at full stuff. It netted me another 3/4 of an inch of up travel. Win. Lastly we crawled around looking for loose bolts, greasing things and giving a general inspection. Feeling pretty good about her readiness for the next adventure!

Took Eeyore on a drive up Elk Mt. and had a pick nick. The clouds broke up and the sun was welcome. Eerore ran like a fine watch.

Nothing dog took it over. Took her for one ride. Now it’s her Jeep. Didn’t want nothing to do with it when it wouldn’t run.

I let it see the sunshine for the first time in a couple of years....on the end of a towbar.
Pulled it around the block with the plugs out in third gear....fuel filters are full and it was showing about 58lbs. of oil pressure. Getting closer to another lefty running.... |

Buttoned up the flat head motor I got and slide it under the work bench. Pulled cover off the D30 FRT. diff and it shows no rust. Very clean. Has a 3:73 ratio. Need 5:38 ratio.

I added a small LED cab light so I can see something at night inside my jeep. I know its not original but nothing on my jeep is and this is practical. I use my jeep a lot and this will make it a little more enjoyable. Its wired to a small pull switch to the right of the light. My wife will really appreciate it. She can never find the end of her seat belt at night.

In the 1930s-early 1940s my dad was in the 107th New York infantry national guard. Amongst his things I found his unit's car radiator badge. I finally got it mounted on my jeep in honor of him and his service.

I worked on some rust repair on my jeep, then went and picked up a 70 commando I’m going to strip for parts. A pretty good jeep day!

I was also flying the flag in a local parade on the forth. Mine was a polly poll as well, but it was reinforced on the inside with a honey comb.

Finished welding on my rocker panel area. It’s not perfect but it came out pretty good for my first time trying it. Me and my 4 year old skimmed it with bondo and started sanding it out. Maybe by next week it will be close to ready for paint.

I’ve been driving the Jeep to work for a couple of weeks. This morning I was sitting in the parking lot contemplating my fate. I noticed that the steering wheel seemed loose. I shook it around a little and sure enough it was kinda loose. Wondering if the nut was tight I tried it. It was loose to. I turned it to the left and it came right off. As I pulled it off I remembered there’s a horn wire in there. By then I could see that it didn’t matter It was then that I realized that the new horn I got for it wasn’t gonna work. At least not until I get the wire fixed. I’m wondering how the old worked. Either I broke the wire when I took it off or something else happed along the way.
