Yesterday I took my jeep four wheeling. It was a good trip, although I smacked my fender and put a scratch down the side in the first 30 minutes. Kind of ruined my day, but that’s the chance you take. Nothing that can’t be fixed anyway.

Set the 2a engine in the CJ5 V6 frame for the first time. Looks like most things line up about how I expected them to, just a couple holes to drill to mount the early trans crossmember. Getting excited to fire it this summer and see if she’s a runner.

A great Father's Day we spent the day with our kids & grandkids.
Drove my Jeep to our oldest Grandson's T-Ball game. After the game we took them for a short ride.

Used the black jeep to commute to work today and log some data for the fuel injection at the same time. I forgot what a handful it is to drive, but I got used to it after a bit.

I finished the last stage of buffing on the Tub Sat. morning and got the Front Fenders buffed out. (I ended up with another small thin spot low on the left outside curve of the back slope on the left fender. (OH WELL) My poor little Makita Angle drill is starting to complain I fear it will not finish the Buffing job. I have another one and I'll most likely buy one to replace it off eBay when it goes. I can find them for like $35-40 with a working battery and charger (not that I need another charger I have like 6 of them)

Gosh, you guys are BUSY !!

Nofender, what year is your little stakebed trailer ?

I ask because I have one similar, which is a 1947. The tail light bracket covers the Mfr name on the metal plate.
But, mine has Good Patina like yours. Here is a shot of her up at the lake last summer. I run the tires at 8 psi so it doesn't bounce the payload out.

My title says STKBD for make and 1947 for year. I bought it when my wife first got pregnant in 1985. The man I bought it from was the transmission mech at the local Chevy dealer, and he bought it from the original owner, who was the owner of the Chevy garage. it will outlive me.

Today, I cleaned and scrubbed the Ford T-98 transmission case, and it got a coat of Lincoln Electric gray, which was left-over from the Krylon over-haul of my Lincoln welder. I also put a torch to the late '40's CJ L134 bellhousing to burn off oil residue that I couldn't seem to was off.

I have been giving my Lincoln SA-200 pipeliner's welder a Krylon over-haul recently so it will run tops for my transmission welding project.

Lost my air cleaner oil cup again. Third time since I had her. (See 9 June post above)

At least this time it happened as I was pulling into my cul-de-sac. I didn't have to search far this time. Another quart of oil in the street. (I remember when it was .99 a quart and came  in cans. Now it is $5. Getting old)

Anyway, looking at the clamp, it wasn't loose. Maybe it was up side down. Closer inspection it looks like there is a difference in top and bottom.  After installing, I tried to pull it off last time and couldn't. Maybe vibration was working it out of the clamp.  Give it a try with the clamp flipped over and see if it works this time.

Its been 4 weeks since my back surgery. So last night I installed the new gas tank (old one sprung a leak the day before my surgery).  Took it out for a test drive and to gas up.  It felt good to be back on the road.  But I noticed the water pump is dripping a little.  So that will be the next thing to work on Ouch

I went for an evening ride to a near by community and drove through the small town of Lawton.  The went to Lowes on the way home.  I saw a guy in a car that passed me by Lowes almost break his neck turning to see me.  I told my wife we should make his day and pull in and park next to him at the store he was going to, but continued on to Lowes.

Used the Jeep to haul the Sterling around the yard. Filled it with brush and leaves. Ran like crap....

Found the advance springs to be completely pooped out. Swapped some spared and re-timed her with the gauge. WOW! what a difference!! Happy Jeep day today.
