Got more welding done on the frame spring hangers, shock mounts, and stitch welded a few areas of the frame rails that needed a little extra help. Now the basic frame is ready for installing the front and rear NOS aftermarket springs and rebuilt diffs.

Cleaned all threads, nut and bolts for the steering knuckles and started to assemble the front axle. Forgot my caliper at home so I had no way to measure the king pin shims so I'll finish tomorrow. Cleaned up the transfer case shifters mounting area by filing all contact points flat and made valleys for grease to get in between. Added a washer which secured the shifter canes significantly while still be able to shift through the gears. Started to clean up a set of extra driveshafts I had in order to replace 3 of the 4 u-joints. The one was replaced right before I drove out to Oregon.

I don't post over here much (only once or twice) but I put my T90/D18 in my jeep. (52-M38) I mostly post on the WillysMJeeps forum.
I did the engine the other day and we had a wind storm that took down some branches behind my fence- scared the bajezzez out of me. Anyway- doing this entire rebuild in the back yard. Put the engine in the other day: |

In the process of changing out the gaskets that leak on the timing cover and oil pan. Timing cover seal gets changed, too.

Charged Battery, Tightened a linkage screw on the carb, and found my high idle problem...tip of the Manual Throttle pull cable was hanging up on the top of the exhaust manifold not letting go down.

I fabbed up a front Reese style receiver for Shiny so I can use my winch on either end. Unfortunately the process revealed that my front cross member has as much Bondo as steel.

Turned the frame 180 and mounted the springs to the pivot hangers in prepping for installing the front and rear diffs.

I should have consulted the inter nets before painting the logo, it’s a bit too low on the panel. Yes, many holes available for loops, like 13 or so. |

Four new NDTs. (more on this in a separate post)
Dropped the pan. I cleaned the screen last oil change and used a cork gasket. A year of leaks. I used a FelPro gasket and a little silicone this time. New oil and filter, of course. Found out why my alternator was vibrating. The nut on the mounting bracket bolt was MIA. Per Stan's suggestion, I installed Big Willy's heavy duty motor mounts. Is it just me or are the studs on the rubber mounts about 6" tall. I got to the point of seeing if I could get my Sawzall in there. What a pain. I almost gave up. Micah
