I'm thinking that the price wouldn't have been that high if Omix-ADA would have imported the screen from China!

...of course it wouldn't have fit anything...

This is good for Hamhog but very bad for our hobby as the prices just keep being inflated to the point of being completely RIDICULOUS. To many people have more money than brains and it is making this kind of thing more commonplace now & just driving up the cost for regular enthusiast folks. I have a similar grill screen that is equally as good and if someone was willing to pay $420 for it I would have to ask what they were smoking!!!!!!! This is for a WILLYS JEEP not a Duesenberg! I thought this craziness was limited to "Alans JEEPS" & the "Conn. Jeep Flippers" but it is now moving to the everyday "collectors". I did not believe the guy that bought eBay item number:334600025034 for $243.63 which was a turd, but this one is pure madness.
Very sad indeed!

By the way I happen have a totally restored King Seeley Governor Assy w/ T-handle & Throttle Link for $15,000 if anyone is interested! AND a restorable ready 1945 CJ2A for $50,000. LOL

I'm with you Greg. You know a little about me. This whole thing is a hobby for me, starting out with cj5s and I'm now getting into the old stuff. I'm a ditch digger of modest means. And I will not sacrifice a 401k for a jeep or parts. I'm getting priced out of this game. The cost of being frugal....or cheap. Whatever name people want to hang on me. But I'd like to retire someday and sooner rather than later.

I'll keep dragging old junk jeeps home, maybe, in the hope that I can get a few parts off them for myself and sell the rest to break even......if anyone still wants to fix original parts rather than buying shiny stuff that doesn't fit and breaks in a year or so.

And, if you find two of those diamond chaffe screens, keep me in mind.

Yeah, that is crazy.

I have a NOS, still in original box chafe screen for a CJ5. It was a brand from the 70s. I think I paid about $30 for it.

Maybe I should list it on Ebay.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there

No bids since Sunday morning EST... I'm guessing there was alcohol involved, and at least one of them doesn't even know they bid...

Evidently, scarcity drives up the prices.  Perhaps it's the hoarders of Jeep parts that are ruining the hobby and pushing out the regular enthusiast folks.  Start selling your precious treasures.

I listed this one with a starting bid of $100.

And just an FYI for you guys on your soap boxes and high horses...I sent an email, tried to give it to Classic Enterprises so they could use it as a template to reproduce this style of chaff screen first, but got no response.

Have a good night.
