So I picked up this 2A windshield some time ago and just recently got around to looking at it. It has this mod that is very elaborate in the fact someone took great time to detail how it looked. Counter sunk oak and rivets in tin. A hole through the center held something in place. Located on drivers side...any ideas?

Looks like a bubba defroster option

Couldn't be anything else, although it's not quite down to a Bubba level.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

It's a great idea, hey he needed a defroster and so he made one, back in a time when if you didn't have it you made it. May have worked in a WWII aircraft factory during the big war because he shows some sheet metal skills. So lets not be too hard on the skills of some bubbas that have passed thru this jeep ownership thing. Perhaps somebody else will copy his idea and his legacy will continue...

Jeeper50 I like that idea. Challenge accepted. I have always been amazed by what some folks did back in the day when they couldn't order it from their chair and it be delivered the next day. Resourcefulness has fallen to the way side. Better yet, I am going to challenge my 15 yr old son to replicate this gismo and we will keep everyone updated on progress.
